![]() I'm not wanting Realtek's software to decode DTS/Dolby Digital - I'm wanting to use DDL to encode a 5.1 stream to my surround sound receiver. (IE, for some games I only have stereo out, and only really get stereo for desktop apps (like music from Spotify that supports 5.1, etc) ![]() The only thing new here is I installed Win 11, and lost the ability to do DDL encoding outside of specific apps or native digital streams. I've had this setup for as long as DDL was a thing, 15 years or something. I'm very careful only to buy motherboards that have Realtek chips that handle Dolby Digital Live (DDL) encoding, which allows games / apps to send a surround sound signal to my receiver. SPDIF and TOSLINK are digital links that require encoders/decoders, but certainly do not "only support stereo". Operating System : Windows 11 Enterprise build 22631Ĭlick to expand. My Audio/Visual Receiver decodes 5.1 streams (Dolby Digital / DDL / DTS, etc). I've downloaded the latest drivers ( - Realtek HD Universal Driver. I'm wondering what steps or audio drivers I need to take or install to regain this functionality. I have a hi-fi sound system, with a receiver capable of Dolby Digital / DTS / DDL, and again, this feature worked great with previous Windows versions, but I've recently realized after a reformat, I'm no longer able to access the Realtek HD Audio Control panel (where I used to be able to enable this feature) - and in the Windows "Sound" preferences, the only output options I have are 2 channel. ![]() On previous installs of Windows 7 (and I believe Windows 10), my OS properly recognized my Realtek based audio chipset (Realtek ALC1200), and gave me the option to enable 5.1 audio (Dolby Digital Live), over a TOSLINK digital connection on my motherboard. No sound in YouTube,iTunes or from the cd/dvd player and no Windows Sounds. Hi, I have had my motherboard for 4+ years, and love it. Easy enough to do except for one problem. ![]()
